Carpet Cleaning Process

Before Your Carpeting Is Cleaned

Please remove breakables and knick-knacks from tables and other pieces that will be moved by our crew. If there is a large amount of small items such as boxes, magazines, shoes, etc., please remove these items if you want the carpet cleaned in these areas. Arrange for pets and children to be away from the area that we are cleaning, and away from all equipment, hoses, etc.

Our 12 Step Carpet Cleaning Process. . . The Ultimate WOW! Experience

Step 1: Pre-Inspection

Every great carpet cleaning starts with a proper pre-inspection. Our service technician will inspect your particular areas of concern as well as noting carpet construction, and soiling conditions. The service technician will also advise you of any possible permanent staining.

Step 2: Commercial Pre-Vacuum
If needed, your carpet will be pre-vacuumed to remove bonded dry soil. This is in addition to the vacuuming that takes place throughout the entire cleaning process.

Step 3: Furniture Moving
Sofas, chairs and tables will be carefully moved. Larger pieces, beds, and dressers are left in place under our regular pricing structure. Furniture will be protected with disposable blocks and tabs.

Step 4: Pre-Condition & Pre-Spot Treatment
Traffic areas and spots are pre-treated for more effective soil and spot removal.

Step 5: Pre-Groom
Your carpet will be pre-groomed with a carpet groomer (depends on soil level) to further loosen traffic area soiling.

Step 6: Extract & Rinse
Once the soil has been loosened, our state-of-the-art truck-mounted hot water extraction process will thoroughly rinse the carpet pile. Pressure and heat are regulated so that carpet is not over-wet. We clean with soft water at a temperature range between 60 -235 degrees depending on the fiber content and soiling condition. This step also improves your air quality by removing the pollens, pollutants, and dust mites, etc. from the carpet.

Step 7: Neutralize
Every carpet that we clean is PH balanced so that there is no sticky residue left behind.

Step 8: Post Spot Treatment
If any spots are not removed during the cleaning process, specialty-spotting techniques are employed after a through cleaning. Note: Stains that are identified by our service technician in the pre-inspection may be permanent.

Step 9: DuPont's Teflon Carpet Protection (optional)
Carpets protected with DuPont's Teflon last longer, clean up easier and stay clean longer. There is a 24-hr curing period required.

Step 10: Speed Dry (when needed)
High velocity air movers will be placed to speed dry the carpet.

Step 11: Post Grooming
The carpet pile is set in up position for faster drying and a better visual appeal.

Step 12: Post Inspection
You will walk through your home or business to inspect our work, let us know that you are pleased and then, we ask that you sign our service invoice.

After Your Carpeting Is Cleaned

  • Be careful walking from carpet to hard surfaces.
  • Floors can be very slippery. Keep pets and children off of carpet for at least 3-5 hours.
  • Remove blocks and tabs 24 hours after carpet is cleaned.
  • You can vacuum the carpet anytime after a 24-hour period.

DuPont Teflon Carpet Protector

(not included in regular pricing)

When carpeting is made, it has two protective properties:
A "dye blocker" or "stain resist" property. This is simply a clear dye to penetrate the fiber. The second is a "soil resistor". This is a product that is sprayed on the yarn and baked on at a high temperature. This helps to resist against common dry soil, and as a barrier between the spill and the dye blocker. The Carpet Manufacturers recommend re-applying protector after cleaning. After applying DuPont's Teflon to the carpet, more dry soil will be removed with normal vacuuming, and most spots can be removed with just water.

WARNING! YOUR CARPET NEEDS PROTECTION!

Regular foot traffic removes much of the factory protection from your carpet. Leaving it unprotected could allow permanent stains, premature wear and a lower appearance level.

THIS IS NOT JUST A SHALLOW SALES PITCH. YOUR CARPET WILL NOT PERFORM OR LOOK AS GOOD WITHOUT CARPET PROTECTOR

Having DuPont Teflon applied today will:

  • Prevent Many Permanent Stains
  • Assist In Resisting Traffic Area Damage
  • Make Future Cleaning More Effective

Unlike some other cleaners, Superior Restoration uses only the highest quality carpet protector from DuPont, uses a dedicated applicator, mixes and applies at the proper rate, and grooms into the carpet for better penetration. You will save money on spot cleanings, your carpet will look better every day, and your carpet will last longer.

We pride ourselves in using only environmentally save green products.
